Damn it! Sorry but i can’t help but curse PLDT MyDSL now, a few hours before Christmas eve. I can’t believe what i just saw on our telephone bill! Sheesh its been only a month now since i subscribe to the PLDT MyDSL Xperience plan. I had no choice. I’m sick of dial-up and i badly needed a faster speed. I tried Globe broadband, ZPDEE, BayanDSL but my area wasn’t covered yet so i had no choice but to have PLDT MyDSL. So i gave in and since day 1 here are my rants:
1. At first i got pissed with the technicians who broke my computer. They accidentally installed a driver from my mobo which conflicts with my video card and so i had the dreaded black screen and had to reformat my pc right then and there. Then they told me my mobo ethernet port has a problem and was trying to sell me a P800 lan card. Do they think i’m stupid? first, my mobo port is working, the driver isn’t just installed. Second, a 800 pesos lan card? hell with them.
2. Since day 1, its either after 1 hour, or after 3 hours, and lucky if i its after 7 hours that i encounter the “dead connection” problem where my connection suddenly dies but you’ll see that the connection says “connected” and i have to restart my computer to have it working again. So much hassle specially since i can’t leave a download working overnight.
3. The worst thing ever – the bill! I was expecting the P999 bill and the 1k modem fee and other little fee on my first month of subscription. But what surprised me when i read our telephone bill for November-December is this “MyDSL period covered: 12/01/2007 – 13/01/2008 P10,732.29″- now where the hell did they get this ?!?!?!?!?!!
Surely.. if there was any other choice for a DSL connection, i would never ever have chosen PLDT!!!

i called up PLDT and they were sorry for the “error” that was made. Instead of billing me for the period of 12-11-07 to 13-01-08 they billed me from 12-01-07 to 13-01-08. that’s a full year.
as for the connection problem.. they told me its my computer and not the modem and not their connection.f*** them! i’m still having an on-going debate with them about this.

Well, I hate to say it but it’s the reality. Luckily, I’m a Smart Bro subscriber and I could tell that I’m one of those satisfied subscribers they had since I’m getting the advertised speed which is 384kbps.
Otherwise, with regards to your connection problem. It’s on their part and definitely not yours. BTW, you made me laugh on that Php800.00 worth of LAN card.

hellO! well good for you that you’re a happy subscriber. as for me.. okie naman sana yung speed ko without the connection problem kaso wala talaga, from the start of the installation til getting my phone bill, theres always a problem. tsk tsk. and about the P800.00 lan card.. i cant help but laugh at it everytime i remember that tech’s offer. lol

I can relate to you on this. I live in a mountainous area, and PLDT is the only “DSL” provider in my area. I’ve been with them for the past 4 years and their service is horrid. I have the 1995 plan but I really wish that their speeds were as advertised. The speeds are a joke. Nowhere near what it’s supposed to be, which is why I am afraid to downgrade. But what really annoys the hell out of me, is when PLDT reminds me to pay my bill even 7 days before the deadline. Then when it’s my turn to complain about poor connections, I’m put on hold forever. For the price I’m paying per month, I’d at least expect quality service. Sometimes I feel like throwing a grenade at their office.
PLDT is so money hungry.

sorry to hear about your experience. there’s really a lot like us who wants to throw a bomb at pldt. up to now, whenever i call pldt to complain about my connection problem, they always insist its my computer that has a problem – first they insisted that my mobo’s ethernet port is broke. i actually even bought a new lan card just to prove them wrong. after that, they told me its already my computer that has a problem. actually, im thinking its their modem or well their actual coonection in my area. but heck, they always tell me they’ll file a report about it and it will be check by their technicians.. etc.. and up to now, nothing. its still the same. i still experience the dead connection everyday, just varies on time. oh well…

if you have a laptop or friend with a laptop, you should try connecting from that (if it has a lan card). then if it doesn’t, PLDT can’t say anything anymore. for all the days we don’t get connected, we should get refunded.
wish you the best

“there’s really a lot like us who wants to throw a bomb at pldt???????” lol!!! kala ko harmless ka, nakakatakot ka pala. search mo na lang sa google if someone has problem tulad sayo and if there a solution. pero if its working at my time lang na walng signal, sa PLDT ang problem. same then ang problem dun sa bahay sa pinas, merong time talaga na walang connection. be cool.
