Hello there maybe it was not the right time for you yet…you know why? what if Oprah Winfrey did call you the same way…what if Google called u the same way? i was called the same way, but i have a different perspective. Mickey
kuting on October 3rd, 2008 at 12:48 pm #
@Mickey well for me, it would have been a different scenario if it was Oprah or Google or anyone else. But this one is for business or work that is. I have been aware of the company, i even use some of their products before and i have friends who are members. My only point here, is the lies that those members do just to have someone attend their seminar. They don’t realize that they are stepping on the other members who are working hard and recruiting members honestly. They don’t realize that they giving others the wrong impression on their company. Honestly, if i wasn’t aware of the company and the product and i don’t have friends who are members there, first thing i would think of is that they are a scam. But then again, i know its a good company and i wish the best for the “honest” members and i hope the worst for those members who are big liars.

hi kuting. i like your perspective and you do sound fair in your judgment. it’s true that there are honest and lying ones. Sorry you had to experience the latter. But to explain to you why some people do choose to “lie” or disclose information, it’s because MLM scams have been on the loose until now here in the Philippines so we are very careful in making our prospects have a negative prejudgment about us. I’m not justifying “lying” since I don’t lie myself, but I understand that some distributors are really having a hard time trying to let people be open-minded and not prejudge by associating us w/ scams. But NuSkin is really a great opportunity to develop an asset that can last you a lifetime. It’s not really about the business but the quality of life you want to have in the future. People who really stuck it up w/ NuSkin are normal people who were in jobs, other business, but just decided to use the company as a tool to get the life that they want so they can enjoy the things they love doing. If you are that kind of person, i do suggest that you overlook that person who mislead you but think about the life that you want to have in the future. If you think it’s possible to achieve doing what you’re doing now, then you do not need a business such as NuSkin. But for me, I really consider NuSkin as the greatest opportunity I’ve ever stumbled upon. I have firm, strong, and unshakable belief in it. But you will only completely understand me when you’re actually in it. by the way, you seem like a very nice person and it’s rare that I meet a fellow cat lover. I used to have cats but my mom has asthma so we now, we just got a dog who doesn’t shed hair. we can keep in touch. my personal page is http://eauj.multiply.com I’m a choreographer by profession.

Hi Yoks. i’m from the company that you went to. The reason why you don’t tell ur parents details is because they won’t understand since you know better now. the P12,600 is the amount of products you get that makes you eligible to become partnered w/ the company. that’s a big deal because everything else i provided for. Anyway, maybe it’s not a good time for you yet or you’re not really willing to do it. But again, it is not only legal but a stable, billion dollar company. you should research much credible sources like NYSE.com or Dun & bradstreet. you may not know what you’re really missing. MLM in general is not illegal nor bad. it is a way of marketing products by person to person. there are wrong MLMs though w/c most people are more familiar w/. Sincerely.

from: http://www.newsflash.org/2004/02/ht/ht008058.htm Nu Scam: And speaking of scams, Congress and the Department of Trade and Industry should put a stop to multi-level marketing and pyramiding scams. One ploy involves teenage students, a number of them from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. Unless you want your kids to have “skin product sales agent” in their resumé, better warn them about how Nu Skin Enterprises has found a nifty way to sell its products and even recruit sales agents in this country. There must be a child labor law somewhere that’s being broken, and if there isn’t, there ought to be one. One UP student got a call from a guy named Celso Cambri, who seemed to know a lot about her personal background and academic achievements. That alone should have raised alarm bells, but instead the girl was impressed. Sad to say, my alma mater teaches academic excellence but not street smarts. The student was told that she was one of a lucky few who had been selected for a leadership training program complete with a stipend sponsored by “NSE Inc.” Other UP students had also shown interest. The girl ended up listening for hours about what increasingly sounded to her like a seminar on buy-and-sell (she wasn’t a complete naïf), but the “NSE Inc.” folks kept insisting it was a purely academic program. The leadership program required a reservation fee of P12,600. The girl paid up and was made to sign a contract. When she asked for more time to read the fine print, she was told to skip several parts that did not concern her and to sign ASAP. She was told that in addition to the P12,600, and before she could qualify for a stipend, she had to submit 300 names to NSE, which was probably how they latched on to her in the first place. Her high school yearbook bore even her contact numbers. Cambri’s boss Ariel Luther Presbitero gave the student a pack containing brochures as well as Nu Skin products, which he reportedly started opening ostensibly so she could smell the stuff that she had never heard of and never dreamed of buying. That’s when it dawned on the student that she had been lured into a marketing scheme for Nu Skin Enterprises – NSE. Later, when she tried getting a refund and returning the products, she was told that since the stuff had already been opened, the policy was no return, no exchange. I guess there’s one born every minute, and the easiest to con are impressionable teenagers. And I guess there are students who would work their butts off even in the middle of exam season to come up with 300 names for NSE to contact and dump its products. But the kids should at least be told exactly what they’re getting themselves into. The questions should be simple and straightforward: Do you want to be a sales agent for Nu Skin? Do you want to buy Nu Skin products? I don’t know where deception fits into a leadership program, but then this is the Philippines. At least you’ve been warned: any company that has to employ deception to get people to buy – and sell – its products has to be a lemon. How can you trust its skin products? You’ll just end up with cooties. __________________ misrepresentation… no matter how legit the products are, by these “business” practices, i’d rather go with slow and sure income instead of “high income potential” that uses deception and unethical practices… (well for the top 2%, 98% of members have average incomes of less than $38, this is in the US) [ http://www.ncahf.org/articles/j-n/mlm.html ] besides, why associate myself with a company already “branded” by people as scam and deceptive? and don’t be proud of the company being in the NYSE and audited by a prestigious accounting firm… ever heard of Enron? and don’t be proud of it sponsoring the olympics, harvard, discovery, with research and stuff… heck with billions of dollars, a company can do so much, even paying people to have a (biased) “research” of their products… and by the way, antioxidants have not yet been “proven” to really have significant effects in the body… if they have, the multi-billion dollar pharma companies (phyzer, etc.) will also manufacture them and profit from them… and why are the products not present in the most credible medical journals of the world? the list goes on…

to YOKZ: I understand. But it really is hard to explain things over the phone. The reason why you come over is to see the details first hand, and you have to be w/ an open mind. by the way, just to correct you, it is not true that “kawawa ang nasa baba”. Nu Skin is a virtual franchising business. That means, whoever is the most hardworking is the most productive. I have business partners who earn more than their mentor simply because they are more hardworking. And in Nu Skin, you don’t need to recruit just to earn money. The profit comes from product movement. I have a partner who hardly recruits but moves product by the volumes. Business is about moving products. The reason why you recruit is for leverage. It’s hard to move millions of dollars worth of products by yourself so you get partners to move it w/ you, and in turn, the company pays you commission from its pocket, not from your partner’s. it’s pretty much like franchising except that you don’t pay a big amount of capital, neither rent, nor overhead, etc. Like what Roberk Kiyosaki says, Network Marketing is the greatest opportunity for a layman to become wealthy. By the way, network marketing is being practiced by proctor and gamble, coca cola palmolive, at&t, citibank, etc. It’s just that the common person doesn’t understand the power of it yet.. hopefully not for long. Be in business if you want to become successful. But if you don’t want to be succesfful, it’s ok.

By the way, you can’t discredit the company’s prestige, including it’s accomplishments and products. It is included in the highest of Medical Journals which is the Physician’s Desk Reference. send me your email and I can send you a copy of it. The company is rock solid. Enron inevitably had to fall-down due to its corrupt leaders and their greed. The owners of NSE are not distributors. so if there’s anyone to blame, it shouldn’t be the company but “some” of the distributors who do questionable business practices. With anything, it’s always the people who are responsible. I hope you understand that.

hey guys. there’s already a recession happening in the US and I have heard reports that people there are flocking to go for NuSkin and other direct selling companies since it’s not an employment company. and most of them are reaping the benefits. I just talked w/ a friend of mine from GMA and the Philippines will be experiencing recession next year. there will be a lot of job cutting. direct-selling/home-based businesses are the way to go now for financial and time freedom. if you wanna argue w/ me, ask obama. he’s anti-outsourcing. there’s too many unemployment claims in the US that he wishes to provide jobs for his own people, not off shore. believe me, guys. if you don’t, it’s just like God’s prediction of the perfect storm and only Noah and his family believed and in turn were saved. A life of wealth is POSSIBLE!!! God bless you all.

sincereboi, nasa US ako. Mali ang balita mo that people are FLOCKING to NU SKIN and other direct selling firms. Pag nilabas iyang balitang iyan sa NEWSWEEK, or CNN, and other reputable news outlet, maniniwala pa ako. Ang mga kapwa natin Pinoy na karamihan ay nasa Healthcare industry, ay maganda ang katayuan, recession-proof ang kanilang mga trabaho. Ang pagpapaganda (cosmetics or skin care) ay actually taking a backseat right now. Why would anyone want to use their remaining money to pay for overpriced skin products? Hindi priority na gumastos ng malaki para gumanda ang balat, kung nagugutom naman ang tiyan, at kailangan ng pambili ng pagpapainit sa loob ng bahay (heating). When the people in the US wants skin care, WE can buy BETTER products from drugstores, like RITE-AID (na pwede pa to return, kung ayaw mo) , or go to SEPHORA (pwede pang humingi ng libreng sample), or to the department stores. Kung acne problem, 2% salicylic acid ang hanapin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salicylic_acid A life free OF DECEPTION is possible ! God bless you all who refuse to deceive other people. Because it will be scrutizined? Why? Because time and again, NU SKIN and PHARMANEX had been sued and fined, for false claims and misrepresentations? What PRESTIGE are you talking about on Pharmanex or Nu Skin? Sinong niloloko nyo sa Pilipinas? Hindi na kasi kayo makaloko dito sa US, ano? Kaya you turn to the Filipinos in the Philippines? You are nothing but a PYRAMID SCHEME. You and your company should be sued in the Philippines, like what was done in the US to NU Skin and Pharmanex. “Personally, i have tried some of their products before and i think they’re pretty much okay except that the price is kinda high.” – I think you are not against the product but the price or the way you where invited (which is the fault of that one who invited you). You came there with a “biased” thinking about multilevel marketing (multilevel distribution) because of your previous experience with your father/uncle. I don’t think u’ve looked deeply in the facts presented to you – i.e. The foundations NU Skin build for children and at the same time being part of New York Stocks Exchange – which marks the stability of the company… With 12,600 you’ll get tremendous training and support (if ever may prospect client ka na, your sponsor will present the product for you to your said prospect client and if they liked it – you’ll get the profit not your sponsor or the one presented the product as part of support you get from the company … and what do you do? You just get trained, use the product until you yourself can attest of the credibility of the product – yun naman un eh, if you believe your product is credible and proved it to yourself – i don think the marketing would be hard. Just a side note, u don’t earn just by selling products – hirap kasi sa ating mga pinoy ma pride, nag sinabing “nag bebenta” feeling na natin palengkero/palenkera laging “sosyal” image ang nasa isip wala naman pera. I suggest you open your mind, multilevel marketing is there since 200 years- and for it to exist that long – it means it’s a solid rock foundation – marami ng naparayaman NU Skin – the reason? They tested the product and it worked – get support on how to sell the product properly and support on how be a LEADER as well – and wallah! Before you knew it – your hard work pays. I just want to remind you, even in your everyday life you are “selling” – if not yourself, your skill, your company – so that you’ll earn something. So selling a product that you know works isn’t different from you doing your job well to sell your skill to your boss – but the big diff is at the end of the day – you dont get bonus – worst thing is .. u can lose your job anytime! NU Skin – will you lose your job anytime? Yes ofcourse it’s possible but that is if you quit sa simula pa lang, but by the time u get 5-10 regular clients to buy products from you (NU SKin delivers the products for you by the way) – sitting pretty ka na lng while u earn from them + company pay you another % for getting regular clients – do the same thing lang find another client or maybe at this point your a leader na who has potential to find another leader. Leverage is the secret of the millionaires and that’s what multilevel distribution/marketing is all about – no offense but i think you lack understanding about the business nature. If you can get Forbes magazine issue 2008, page 29-30 and read about NU SKin. Two man standing in the jail cell – the other one saw the mud, the other one saw the stars.

There’s only one thing I can say about this. If you were impressed with the presentation and what the business can offer you…why not try it? P12,600 is not much if you can get more than that by WORKING HARD of course. I suggest to join Nu Skin if you have the extra cash. If you don’t then why join? It’s not like the company forces you to join them right? Personally I would join because I don’t want to look back someday and have regrets. P12,600 is nothing compared to a life of regret if you could’ve made more than what you’ve put up in the first place. If you can buy an extra mobile phone for your smart sim or globe sim for P12,600 (or maybe even more)…why not invest it on something that would make something in return. Not textmates…but the money you actually captialized on…and much more. Thank you!
ihatenuskin on September 25th, 2009 at 4:44 pm #
@Riddick: You know, if you have an extra P12600 you must have been a graduate from a reputable school. Now, why would I waste my degree selling something that’s not even a necessity? I would I waste my time in something that will not even give me a stable income? “It’s not like the company forces you to join them right?” — sorry to pop your bubble, but your wrong there, mate! If they are not forcing you to join their company, how come when one decides to leave, all the agents will gang up on you to stop you from leaving?? And if they fail in trying to discourage you from leaving the company, they will give you a hard time in refunding your money from your unsold kits? Is this how their agents are trained? My friend was being harassed for days when she told the company she’s quitting. I helped her find a lawyer just to scare their asses off and give her money back.

My bf’s friend is from NuSKIN and she tried to invite me. I told her Im not interested in any networking or MLM. I hope when people say they’re not interested, they’d stop. However, she didnt stop. Akala ko cya lang ang ganun cause thats her personality pero she is the 5th person who invited me and they are all the same. Makulit! Anyways, that was my experience. I dont have anything against NUKSIN. However, there is a practice I dont really like. SINISIRAAN NILA ANG IBANG PRODUCTS. All those 5 girls asked what I am using. I told them DOVE, CLINIQUE and NEUTROGENA…after nun sunod sunod na un paninira nila. This really turned me off big time.

hi dee. leonard here. i am doing nu skin and i am a straight, married guy. yung sa sinabi mo -it is technically not paninira if they can prove it. i have proven the difference between the soaps of Dove and Neutrogena and our Body Bar using a pH pencil – totoo yun. at yung tungkol sa claims of this and that cleanser – Betadine ang gawin ninyong referee – all cleansers (even that by Body Shop) vs. the 180 Face Wash. i understand if you think na paninira yun kasi yun ang gamit mo, pero please understand that you don’t own those companies either. consumer ka rin lang, so what my business partners there were doing was telling you the BLUNT TRUTH about the ingredients that other companies use.

Hey ihatenuskin, good day to you. There’s a big difference between forcing you to join the company and stopping you to leave the company. Just something that I noticed last time you posted. Anyway…I feel sorry about what happened to your friend. I don’t know if what you claim is true since I’m not from Nu Skin and I don’t need extra money. Just a word of advice. I don’t believe that we make wrong decisions in life because it’s illogical to pick a decision that would be for our disadvantage. We only make the right decision or the smart decision. Be sure to pick carefully. I wish happiness and luck to all the people here. God bless you and may the gods that you worship bless you as well. Have a nice day.

@Leo. Well, I get your point but I’m not sure you get mine and besides that is my opinion. I hope you respect that. Yes I am a consumer too and I know that there will always be a better product over another and each user is entitled to their own taste and opinions. Sana alam din yan ng 5 NU SKIN girls who talked to me. Again, hindi ko lalahatin cause I know a person who works there who isnt like that naman. Besides, yan ang opening nila agad once na humindi ka sumali. LOL! Nakakaturn off talaga. BOTTOM LINE: I dont believe that you need to bad mouth other products or people for that matter just to get users to switch or buy your products.

@dee. You know what i am into this business NU SKIN. I respect your opinion anyways its still your decision to decide what you want to choose and to use. But sometime we can’t decide right then if we see the result right away the difference if its true or not. But still its up to your choice, maybe the ladies that you’d mentioned are opened and showed something for an option. And why we’re comparing products? of course we want to show up that we’re really different because all the products are organic and well research ingredients and its not new in the market comparing some other products.
